Summer Lovin’, Happened so Fast

So here we are, the summer is over once again… how did it go so quickly? The world may not be completely back to normal, but I feel like we are trying to now learn to live with this virus. This does give me a more hopeful outlook for my last year at University. An opportunity to actually see people and attend lectures face to face is something I’m really looking forward to.

COVID has taken its toll on many people – it has been a huge learning curve and has left some devastation in its path. However, I was one of the lucky people to have already had one vaccination when I contracted the virus. I can honestly say I felt really poorly but thankful that the one dose meant my symptoms were neither deadly or as serious as they could have been. If anyone is out there reading this and is contemplating whether to have a vaccine, I implore you to do so; not to just protect yourself, but others too! Now I am fully vaccinated I can go back to the sport I love and mix with people again albeit cautiously in certain situations.

I will remember this summer with a mix of emotions, COVID early on, two lovely mini breaks in the UK (which included a world series of crazy golf), and Leeds festival with my best friends. Tomorrow I am going back to my old school to play in the Old Princethorpian’s sports day. The youngsters will probably be a lot fitter than some of my teammates as a few of them haven’t picked up a netball since leaving school!

Finally, I have moved into my new house and it feels so right after such a turbulent two years. Going back to training at Uni and Reds will make sure I have that routine back in place and the thought of having people watch our matches brings such excitement.

So whatever you are doing in September, stay positive and remember to make each day count xxx
